Scott Family Amazeum

Scott Family Amazeum Bentonville AR is a children’s museum of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics based experiences. The 50,000-square-foot museum, which opened in July 2015, is adjacent to Alice Walton’s Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

The museum encourages creativity and curiosity through exhibits, educational collaboration and programs, workshops, and camps.

Admission

The Amazeum is your hub for fun, creativity, and discovery. Explore more than 50,000 square feet of interactive exhibit and learning spaces with even more activities available outside on approximately one acre of outdoor space.

New experiences pop up daily at the Amazeum including Hershey’s Lab where science and chemistry are sweet, Math Moves! where guests use their bodies to actively set up, measure and describe ratios and proportions and the Nickelodeon Gallery where visitors can bring animated fun to life with interactive games and activities.

Located at 100 Museum Way in Bentonville, the Amazeum is a short drive from Crystal Bridges and nestles into a residential neighborhood and the historic Orchards Park. The Amazeum has embraced community connections with local organizations, schools, and businesses to build its reputation for innovative learning and play collaboration. Its exhibits and programs are also available to other museums and communities. This includes the Amazeum’s reciprocal membership program which allows free admission to members at participating children’s museums.

Hershey’s Lab

Throw out any preconceptions you have about museums and be prepared to have a blast at the Scott Family Amazeum, the premier children’s museum in northwest Arkansas. This dynamic 50,000-square-foot facility is designed to be touched, fully experienced, and absolutely enjoyed – in short, it’s a fun-filled delight for kids of all ages.

This unique, state-of-the-art facility, which opened in July 2015 after nearly 10 years of planning, has something for everyone. There are hands-on activities for toddlers (ages 2 and under), as well as labs and studios for older elementary and middle-school students. And the entire experience is centered around the industries that built and sustain the region, with exhibits such as the Hershey’s Lab, Walmart Market, 3M Tinkering Hub, Nature Valley Water Amazements, and Nickelodeon Play Lab.

There are also several indoor and outdoor experiences that celebrate the outdoors, such as a tree canopy, an indoor cave, and a hiking trail connecting the Amazeum to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The Amazeum also offers a variety of programs for 4-H and home school groups, as well as scouts and other youth organizations.

Free-Range Adventures

In the outdoor PlayScape, kids construct, de-construct and re-construct, making, tinkering, and collaborating in a space where adults support but don’t direct every move. It’s a rare opportunity for kids to get creative and explore on their own.

The museum has around 50,000 square feet of learning spaces and exhibits that teach about Arkansas’ land, culture, and industries. Kids learn science and chemistry in the Hershey’s Lab while other areas like the 3M Tinkering Hub and art room appeal to a wide range of ages.

The museum also hosts events and programs throughout the year, such as Hershey’s Chocolate Fest, Nature Valley Family Fun Day, and Artsfest Northwest Arkansas. During Priceless Nights, families can stay after hours for pay-as-you-wish admission. Be sure to visit the downtown square with quaint shops and eateries while you’re there too.

Special Events

In addition to the 3M Tinkering Hub, Hershey’s Lab, and nearly one acre of outdoor space where new experiences pop up throughout the day, a host of other special activities make the Scott Family Amazeum a memorable experience for kids. For example, the museum’s Nature Valley Water Amazements invites kids to try their hand at controlling the flow of water while a topographic sandbox gives visitors a chance to explore the landscape.

There are also a number of experiences with ties to local industry, including the market sponsored by Walmart which lets kids shop for groceries, sell them at a cash register, and prepare and serve meals at a deli counter. Churlish observers might complain of corporate sponsorship but it’s hard to be a spoilsport when it provides so much fun for families.

Adults aren’t left out of the fun either as the Amazeum offers a range of events for 21+ guests. From Screenprinting to Volt Racers, these unique experiences are great for group outings or for parents who need a break from kiddos.
